Default FS: Bob Feller's Dad's catchers mitt

Price reduced - March 27

Well, here we go again - another move, another sale of anything that isn't small and flat. I have about six weeks to move all the big stuff out, so I'll be putting up one or two such items each day. Most are already on my web-site (see link in signature), but will be priced lower here.

This is the catcher's mitt that Bob Feller's father caught him with in the 1930's when Feller was a teenager, before he reached the Major Leagues. Normally I would question items that came from Barry Halper's collection, but this one has great provenance, including a notecard signed by Bob Feller and a photograph of Feller holding the glove while with his family, in the 1960's. The glove has had additional wear since then, but a few key creases can be matched. There is also a letter from Halper, relating the story of how he acquired it from Bob Feller.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind museum-quality piece which I would not normally part with, but I have accumulated 8-10 such pieces and I'm supposedly running a business Price is $2,800 shipped, check or money orders.

I do not have the other documentation scanned, but will do so if any interest is shown.
