My ex-sister-in-law likes to tell a story about how she and her (now ex-husband, but not my brother) got a once in a lifetime chance to play Pebble Beach. They were enjoying the view of the ocean from the clubhouse when after a bit a group of men sat down and got really loud.
She recognized one of the men in the group but didn't say anything. After a while the group got up to leave and the man she recognized came over to their table and apologized if they were bothering them.
My ESIL smiled at him and said...
"Oh, no need to apologize for that, but you DO need to apologize for going into the Hall of Fame as a Yankee!"
He laughed hard and they shook hands with Reggie Jackson and that was that.
No autographs but a great story to tell forever.
