My girlfriend and I go to New York a few times a year and we always see someone who is in the public eye and no one ever bothers them.
One time we were staying at the Swiss Hotel in NYC and we had breakfast next to Christopher Lloyd. I looked at him and he knew I knew who he was; I gave him a respectful glance. After he finished his breakfast, he walked by us, gave me a respectful nod as to say "Thank you for not interrupting my breakfast."
