FS-1896 Indiana State League Frames and Matted ScoreCard
FS-July 4th 1896 Scorecard between the Logansport Ottos & the Elwood Elwoods
Very cool scored scorecard in which Logansport won the game 3 to 1 (Called Early as written by original scorer)
Scorecard has been professionally Matted and framed (8x10) with a 1904 Detroit Tigers team montage including Otto player Walter "Monte" Beville
Cool old piece of Indiana history... League itself was pretty small (6 teams), with clubs from Anderson, Connersville, Elwood, Kokomo, Logansport, and Rushmore. But what is really interesting is that the Logansport club had two players who managed to work their way up the the bigs (Monte Beville-1903 New York Highlanders, 1904 Tigers, And a catcher by the name of Bill Byers who later had a cup of coffee with the St. Louis Cardinals).
Very cool piece of early Indiana baseball memorabilia that will make a great addition to any collections
