My long standing theory of how American Lithographic formatted the printing of T206 cards (and T205's) is in sheets of
12 cards across the sheet by
N-number of rows
down the sheet. I essentially base this theory on the following 4 factors:
19" track width of lithographic (6-color process) printing presses of that era
The available standard size of paper (or cardboard) sheets was 19" x 24"
Series structure of the T206 set which mathematically translates to repeating factors of 12 or 6
A known uncut sheet (19" x 33") of PIEDMONT cigarette packs
And for example, shown here is my theoretical printed sheet of 108 cards on an 19" x 24" cardboard sheet which comprises of the Exclusive 12 subjects............
