Default Jackie Robinson Signed Check to His Mother Christmas Day 1963

JACKIE ROBINSON COMPLETE PERSONAL CHECK MADE OUT ENTIRELY IN HIS OWN HAND TO HIS MOTHER MALLIE ROBINSON CHRISTMAS 1963 Dated Christmas DAY 1963 made out entirely in his own hand and endorsed by his mother on the reverse. This Chistmas will be the 50th anniversary of the day this check was written undoubtably the most unique and memorable Jackie Robinson signed check you are likely to encounter. Measures 3x6 in immaculate condition , check exhibits normal light cancel stamp well away from the signature. Comes with a certificate of authenticity from Rachel Robinson herself. You may find a slightly less expensive Jackie Robinson check but its doubtful you'll find a nicer one or a better conversation piece than this one. His parents were seperated at an early age and it was at the inspiration and urging of his mother Mallie that Robinson would pursue a career in athletics Jackie Robinson's baseball record needs little description, he was the first African American Major League player in 1947 for the Brooklyn Dodgers , also won the "Rookie of the Year Award" and in 1949 "Most Valuable Player Award" Member of the World Champion 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers team he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962 (The year before this check was signed) and died in 1972. $1,450.00
