A little off-center is bad but a lot is good? Someone please
explain it because i have no idea what is the attraction and why
it only applies to T206.

It does not just apply to the T206 cards. As someone that has collected errors for 20+ years I have seen there popularity come and go. I personally collect the way off center cards(next card showing) because perfect centered cards are not rare but finding a card so offcenter that a part of another card showing is.
If you want crazy you need to check out the 89 Fleer Bill Ripken collectors. Just a simple print dot can increase the price by up to 10X what a NM card of the same variation sells for. I have sold 1 of the Black Box versions that normally sell for $1-$2 for $40 just because there was a print dot in the Black Box.
