Hi-
Below are the two I have. One is an Al Bridwell royalty check for The Glory of Their Times. It is a postwar check but from a prewar player, and related to a classic book.
The second one is a bit of a stretch. It is definitely prewar as it dates to 1868. It is signed by Elihu Phinney. He was the son of the owner of the farm where the first game was supposed to have been played according to the Mill's commission. He was also named as one of the players in the first game (I believe this to be Elihu Phinney III, but I could be wrong as I do not know when Elihu Phinney Jr died). The family farm is part of the Hall of Fame grounds.
I wish I could find a 19th century pay check for a major leaguer!

Alan
