You must've missed #6 from the "PSA Card Grading Process Revealed" discussed in this thread.

When a card is evaluated by a grader, they may or may not choose to physically look at the back of the card. Many people are under the false impression that collectors actually care about the back of the card. Nothing could be further from the truth. Some do, some don't. Most graders can tell by feel if the back of a card needs further examination. Many times the front of the card will give the grader clues that they may want to visually look at the back of the card. The grader's sense of touch, not to mention the daily quota of cards to be graded, are much more crucial than physically looking at each card's reverse.
