Mark, thank you for clarifying which issue/page the article was in. I'll second the recommendation for joining SABR. If you like ANY kind of baseball research, there's probably a SABR committee for it
Plus, membership includes access to The Sporting News archives, which is worth the annual fee in itself.
Which also reminds me, I need to re-up my own membership
