For sale is an extremely tough signature of Charles W Murphy. Murphy owned the Cubs during its greatest period of success, including its last ever World Series championship. Murphy did not own the Cubs for very long, and he passed away in 1931, so his signature is especially difficult to obtain.
The item itself is a player transfer agreement between the Chicago Cubs and the Fond Du Lac baseball club for the services of Charles "Doc" Watson.
Any collector of vintage Cubs autographs needs to have an example of Murphy in their collection. This being an official major league document helps with authentication, but if more is needed, the item has been pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
