really need to pick up a copy of A PORTRAIT OF BASEBALL PHOTOGRAPHY somewhere if you're going to continue pursuing baseball photos. Whatever it costs you on the front end, one thorough read through it will save you much more in post-purchase heartache.

If you pick up a copy of the book, the handiest feature IMHO is a company-by-company, year-by-year breakdown of the stamping styles they used, which you can usually use to narrow down when a news photo was produced to a range of a few years at most.
To answer your question, yes, International Newsreel was an imprint used by International News for their photos from 1922-1928 (and to a lesser degree by their Chicago bureau as late as the early 1930's). Anything with that stamp would be "vintage." Whether "original" (1st generation, of the period, Type 1, etc) would depend on several factors, and is impossible to say for sure without seeing the front and back of the photo.
