Default FS-Silk O'Loughlin Pin Circa 1904

Very Cool Vintage pin of early umpire and pontential hall of famer Silk O'loughlin

The Pin has some wear but displays very well... O'Loughlin was know for being extremely vocal behind the plate, but is also credited for creating the modern day hand signal (done to assist Dummy Hoy with the account)

He had some other notable achievements
*Umped 10 no hitters (Addie Joss perfect game & Joe Wood Gem)
*First ump to eject the infamous Ty Cobb
*Participated in 5 world series
*Worked 16 years in the AL 1902-1918 (he later died in 1918)

Silk ran as a democrat in the 1904 New York state assembly...My belief is that this particular pin is political in nature and was likely given to supporters prior to the election..

Looking for $75 BO shipped on the pin. Please pm me if you have any questions...

Thanks!
Dave
