I heard an interview with Deacon about 15 years ago on WFAN in NewYork. The interviewer was telling Deacon that Lawrence Taylor was the best defensive player in NFL history.
Deacon cut him off and said: No, Dick Butkus was the best, and I know because I was the second best.
