Yes, as someone who collects some of the most obscure issues in the hobby I can attest to the fact that rarity doesn't equal value. The demand side of the equation is much more important in determining value. I have a ton of cards I could show that would fit the bill. Here is a 1946 Wagner card that I have probably seen 2 of, including this one. The value is $300-$500 on any given day.
