Those are different than the Vermont photos I've seen. The Vermont paper photos I've seen are all on very thin paper mounted on a carboard mount. Perhaps the others you mentioned are like that. I'd also want a better idea of sizes.

The cabinet-style ones were sometimes cut down from larger multi-player composites. So handcut examples are not abnormal. They're usually, though not always, on black faced mounts.

Also, I've seen these photos in different styles, so I'm not saying a style I haven't seen before doesn't exist.

The Vermont proofs aren't really proofs and aren't from the 1880s. The story is they were made in the early 1900s from the original negatives. As far as sales of these go, $125 is a good price. They usually sell for higher.

One telling thing about the photos is the images are crystal clear with lush tones-- as they were printed from the original photos. The image quality identifies them as much as any other quality.

Looking at the ones you pictured (slightly blurry photo), the format is unusual to me, but the image on the bottom player certainly appears of the high quality one would expect.
