Detroit Boy
For this I owe Gary Passamonte full credit and much gratitude. While I may never be able to positively identify the boy, I suspect he may have been the team mascot for either the NL Detroit Wolverines (1881-1888) or, perhaps more likely, the International Association Detroit Wolverines (1889-90) who would regularly visit Buffalo to play the Bison BBC. Both teams did have mascots at various times. If not a mascot, perhaps he is the son of a player. I also originally thought maybe a News Boy but it appears they (News Boys) almost always wore the newspapers name if a jersey was purchased as opposed to just the city.
Thank you Gary! Not only did you pick up something on my behalf but only asked for your cost in return, a very reasonable cost at that.
