FS: Awesome photo album Pirates/Cubs Everetville mine disaster
One of my favorite items, but its time to refocus on the few items I have and let someone else enjoy.
in April 1927, there was a mine explosion at the Everettville mine in West Virginia. Near 100 died in this tragedy.
What I am selling is a BEAUTIFUL 1950 gold lettered photo album w appx 23 4x6ish original snapshot photos. apparently,t here was a "company trip" to Forbes Field, as the Cubs met the Pirates in a DH that day. My guess is that this album is a keepsake of a reunion possibly of survivors of the mine disaster
Album is a WONDERFUL memory. Most shots are of the men, eating and outside in Pittsburgh. Several shots in the park tho, and of game action. Interesting in the integration in these photos. It simply is a great historical item, and related to baseball of course.
Photos have GREAT clarity and any scans do NOT do justice to this piece. YOU WILL LOVE THIS ITEM
