They tried to ship it securely but failed. It was in a large top loader (which was fine) but they didn't have very much cardboard around it at all. It was about 25" long by 14" wide by about 3/4" deep (which was the issue). It bent in the middle as well as was tore in 3 pieces, and neither were that way before shipping. Had they used a heavier piece of cardboard, or wood, it would have been fine. They didn't do it on purpose they just didn't realize what would happen. Many times I am amazed at how folks ship things.
PS.... I should add that on an occasion or two, in my many shipments, I have shipped something poorly too. I don't do it often, but it's happened. All you can do is offer a refund or whatever the other party wants...and apologize.
