Default For Sale - TY COBB 1948 Check to the IRS

Thinning out the collection. This beautiful vintage Ty Cobb check is drawn on the First National Bank of Nevada and dated Sept. 14. 1948. "The Georgia Peach" paid the feds $6,250, an impressive amount when you consider the average income of the time was probably less than that. It's written in Cobb's classic green ink with a nice autograph.

This beauty has been in my personal collection for more than 30 years. I acquired it at the National Convention in either 1981 or '82 in Plymouth Michigan. Old-Timers will remember those early shows organized by Lloyd and Carole Toerpe. Anyway, there is no LOA or COA. It has been professionally framed with a Perez-Steele postcard.

Forgive my poor photography, but I'll take the first $845, shipping and insurance included. SOLD SOLD SOLD
