I'm doing research for a book on Negro League uniforms and that photo was a great help in establishing the ones worn by the NNL in '39. Can't add anything to authentic or not arguement except tread wary, it's probably the most widely reprinted East-West photo out there.

Are you sure that you aren't thinking of the 1933 game? I have only found one 1939 1st game thus far? AND it was mislabled 1942
