There are perhaps two
maybe three auctions per year that I'll stay up late for. Leland's Winter Catalog certainly doesn't pass that mark.
It wasn't anything I was dying to have, so I'll move on and forget about it quickly. I just think that some auctions do a disservice to their customers and consignors by essentially allowing them to go on through all hours of the night.
We're all adults here [although we don't always act that way...]. Give us a set of rules, and we'll adopt our bidding patterns to suit. I'm not convinced that extended bidding that goes 5, 10 or more hours really benefits anyone in the end -- particularly the auction house and consignors.
