Never send paypal gift. It looks shady on your own paypal account, and you have no recourse.

As a seller, I only ask for paypal gift when the buyer is international. That way if the item gets lost it's their problem.

Terrible way to look at it, but if they get the item- they can still say they never got it and get a full refund because there isn't tracking information usually when sending internationally.

Even if you pay the premium price (sometimes $70) to recieve tracking, the carriers won't mark it delivered.
