Football is a game of strategy and you work with what you are given. The packers regrouped at half, came out with a modified strategy, and did what it took to win the game - not to slaughter Seattle, but to win. Seattle had -1 total yards for the second half, going into the 2nd-to-last drive.
The referees handled the entire game poorly, but I like Pete Carroll's assessment of them in today's Seattle Times. Basically, he stated that it takes years to get the experience to referee football at this level, and these guys are doing the best they can. Of course, he had nothing to complain about, since the goal of the game is to win, not to lose with good officiating.
Delaying the season until the refs and NFL figured things out, might not have been a better route.
