Is there an official hobby definition of the descriptors, "scarce" versus "rare?" Don't know that I've ever actually seen one. The concept of a card viewed as "scarce" when it is more desireable than another, even though there are more examples in existence, while a card is considered "rare" simply because fewer collectors want it, despite it being more plentiful than another, seems like an arbitrary distinction when the two adjectives actually have the same meaning.
