The cracker Jack card posted earlier appears to have the two stroke R. Is that questionable as well?
I don't know Rube from Jack Ruby, but it would seem any forger would try to imitate the simple one stroke construction rather than just make up a two stroke R out of thin air.
My sense would be to research it further and look at the whole signature rather than base a decision on what may be a Legitimate variant.
