Interesting post Bill. I recall CPU quite well as I worked for a competitor, Current Card Prices (CCP), back in the day. I have a few CCP posts scattered here and on the postwar board; in the days before computers and the internet it was all index cards, typesetting and drop printing! When Beckett got involved, we kind of knew our days were numbered....
