Will someone please post a scan of a Moran 1914 ZeeNut card
Posted By: Frank Wakefield
In the Standard Catalog the E254 Colgans Chip card is listed as "Moran", with no first name. The card has Moran and Atlanta on it. I've not seen a Moran Tin Top, but it is listed as Herbie Moran.

Roy Moran was with Atlanta 1908 into 1911, and then with Chattanooga. He was with Sacramento in the PCL in 1913 and 1914, and has a card in the 1914 ZeeNuts. I'd like to see a scan, to see if that looks like the face on the E254. If so, maybe we can get the Standard Catalog folks to list that as Roy Moran.

Roy's major league career consisted of 7 games with the Washington Senators during the last 3 weeks of the 1912 season. He played left field, had 2 hits in 13 at bats, walked 8 times, and was 3 for 3 stealing bases. He'd been pretty fun to have in Statis Pro Baseball!

I'll dig out a Moran E254 to post...

Thanks.

Frank W.

Will someone please post a scan of a Moran 1914 ZeeNut card
Posted By: Alan O'Connor
Hi Frank-

Normally I would have been glad to scan the card and post it for you. However, I sent it down a few weeks ago as part of Classic (1903-1957)Pacific Coast League Baseball History display being developed in the History Museum in the San Francisco International Airport. It will feature the Seals, Oaks, Padres, Stars, Angles, Rainiers, Missions and Solons and will run from May through November 2009--in case any of you pass through the airport during that time.

I'm sure someone else will post the card in the meantime, but I thought that this would be a good opportunity to give everyone a heads up about the display (which of course will include the 1914 Moran ZeeNut).

Alan

Little late to this thread, but thought these cards of Roy Moran with Atlanta are a little different than the main stream
