Best source for graded card prices?
Posted By: Howie C
If you were to buy or sell a graded card, where would you look to see what the card is really worth? I see people selling the same card with the same grade but their BIN's are so different. I am just looking for a good source.

Best source for graded card prices?
Posted By: leon
I think Bobby is a little bit biased ...I do use vintagecardprices.com but no one should use any of the "previous sales data" guides as the gospel. There is so much shilling in major auctions and ebay it's almost hard to know anymore. It seems like every day there are multitudes of cards that "didn't sell" when they apparently did sell. It's like a freakin' shell game. AND there is not ONE auction that is immune to it. best regards

Best source for graded card prices?
Posted By: Mike
I look at the Standard Catalog of BB Cards and Sports Market Report from PSA to get at least an idea of price ranges. I've been bidding below SMR and getting a lot of cards lately ( SMR appears to be high) in the current market. This would definitely vary by card and set . Also check ebay on completed items and check the cards which have sold and not sold and the prices.

Best source for graded card prices?
Posted By: rand
man, Leon really said it! at this point, ebay is wide open. the only way i can determine a fair price is my personal feeling. once i do some homework on the card, meaning degree of difficulty, short print, ect.. i go to the psa and sgc registry and look to see how many are in the pop report. i will watch the item on ebay sales and closed auctions. then i will bid at the last second what i am willing to pay. i do not take it personally anymore if i dont win the card, even if its an important one for my set. i have learned that ebay will recycle it again and all i have to do is wait. i have saved $100's by waiting for the next one. of course i am referring to cards that are not rare or real high end items.

i think VCP is a good barometer, and a complete improvement over SMR, but not the only answer.
