Need Scan of 1889 St. Louis Browns Team Photo
Posted By: Donny Muth
All,

I'm looking for a high quality scan of an 1889 (?) Studio Photo (or possibly a cabinet card?) of the St. Louis Browns team. The one that I am wanting is shown on page 93 of the reprint of Lipset's Encyclopedia of Baseball Cards. It's the one with the two greyhounds in the photo with the Browns team. If anyone has one of these cards and/or knows the approximate value then I would be interested in that as well. Who knows, one day I might actually be able to buy one for my wall.

Thanks!

---Donny

Need Scan of 1889 St. Louis Browns Team Photo
Posted By: Joe_G.
That is a neat cabinet card even if it contains an error (they didn't win the World Championship in 1887).

St. Louis Brown cabinets are more common than most other teams (NL & AA) of the era and would think a nice example might go around $2,500-$5,000 (the above cabinet being a high end example).

Best Regards,
Joe Gonsowski

Need Scan of 1889 St. Louis Browns Team Photo
Posted By: David M
That's an unusual photo, in that no one seems to be looking at the camera and everyone appears to be looking a different direction. Almost like the photo before the real photo was taken.
