How tough are the old mill backs and are there any extra tough cards with this back or anything that would get a premium beyond just the slightly tougher back. What is a Cycle 460 SGC 30 minor legauer common worth. I saw a bunch of 350 backs but didn't see anything with a cycle 460. Posted By: Frank WakefieldJames, I don't think a minor league player in the white border tobacco series would be deemed a common card if it had a Cycle 460 back. My understanding is that the minor leaguers were only in the 350 series. Can you post a scan of the front and back? Thanks. Frank.

Posted By: James GalloI assume Tim Jordan (batting) of Brooklyn is a minro leaguer. I could be wrong. Anway it is a cycle460 and was graded by SGC recently. I can post a scan later, but this might be enough info for you guys that know this set as I obviously don't. So lets say a SC Cobb is worth a $1000 in it's current condition is an Old Mill worth $1500 in the same shape. Ie how big is the premiun on the major cards or HOF. Posted By: Frank WakefieldBrooklyn's baseball team in 1910 was in the National League. Jordan would be Tim Jordan, who played for the Brooklyn Superbas. After playing a few games in 1901 for the Washington Senators, and in 1903 for the New York Higlanders, Jordan found regular play for Brooklyn in 1906. He had a good year, leading the league in home runs, ranking 4th in RBIs, he was offered and signed a 7 year contract. He cooled off a bit in 1907. In 1908 he topped the league with 12 home runs, he hit .247. In 1909 he played in 103 games, he'd injured a knee. That injury made 1910 a difficult year for Jordan, he was in 5 games that year, with one hit, a home run, in 5 at bats. His final major league game was May 2nd that year. Brooklyn then released him to Toronto of the Eastern League. Jordan didn't report there in 1910, and appealed the matter to the National Commission, claiming that he was injured while in service to Brooklyn and that they should pay him for 1910 on his major league contract. Jordan did play for Toronto in 1911, the Commission denied his claim. Jordan was a popular player when the white border set was created, fans loved his strong hitting. But realistically, he would have been out of the major leagues about the time the 460 series cards were being released. Just as we did when we were kids, I think kids of the day were more likely to keep a player if he was still in the big leagues, still in the box scores; and kids were more likely to discard a player's card once he left the major leagues, or was gone from the sports pages. For that reason, there might be an ever so slight tiny premium for a 460 series card of Jordan. Minor league players depicted in the white border tobacco set will have backs consistent with the 350 series. I don't think you'll find a 460 series back on a minor league card.

Posted By: Frank WakefieldThe Brooklyn cards in the white border tobacco set just say Brooklyn... the player's name, and Brooklyn. So Jordan's card would have "Jordan, Brooklyn", not "Jordan, Brooklyn, Nat'l". As the Ol' Professer used to say, "You could look it up!"

Posted By: Jim RiveraFrank is correct -there are no 460 minor league t206 cards. Minor league players appear in the 350 series only.

I was thinking of the Cubs and White Sox, so the only time the American or National league is shown is when the city had a team in each league (i.e. Chicago, Boston, New York, St. Louis, and Philadelphia) ChiSoxFan Looking for T206 in Poor to Good condition.
