Posted By: <b>marty q</b><p> over the years i have seen alot of trivia on this board, and for the most part you guy's are very good!! not much stumping going on here. well i will try a few tough and semi tough (at least i think they are). some might be silly but it's all in fun !! lets see how long it takes.<br><br> 1) who ? used to put a caggage leaf under his cap? he said it kept him cooler on hot day's.<br><br> 2) who was the first batting champion to wear glasse's?<br><br> 3) besides william bendix playing babe ruth, what other connection does he have with the babe ?<br><br> 4) what is al simmons real name ?<br><br> 5) what is the record for most k's by one pitcher in a baseball game? hint: not roger clemens.<br> extra credit- what is the single season record for k's for a professional leauge? hint: not nolan ryan.<br> <br> 6) who was the only pitcher to win 20 games on a 100 loss team? hint- the rest if the staff only won 32.<br><br> 7) who is the only player to hit 50 h.r's and strike out less than 50 times in the same season?

I'm sure that it seemed so to Phillies phans. I know I kept thinking that year how good the Cards would be if Mr. Busch hadn't gotten crossways and money tight with Steve Carleton and Jerry Reuss. Add those two to Bob Gibson and Rick Wise; the Cards would have had something going that year.
