Posted By: Joe D.
depends on the condition....

but sight unseen, I would say -

Probably $100ish for the philly team
and $200ish for the NY team.

Could be less or more depending on eye appeal.

Posted By: fred
he bought them about 20 years ago when he was doing local shows, so i don't think they are fakes, atleast i hope so.

Posted By: davidcycleback
If he bought them 20 years ago, they pre-date the just mentioned fakes. The just mentioned fakes were a conconction of the last about 1-2 years.

The Fatimas are real photographs on thin paper and have no dot pattern in the images. Other than the just mentioned fakes, all reprints have a minute dot pattern in the image-- visible under a magnifying glass.

Also the fronts of the originals are glossier than the back, the backs being matte like regular paper. Glossy front, matte back and thin paper are strong signs a Fatima's original.

Lastly, while there have been reprints, most advertised as 'original' Fatimas on the market 20 years ago were original. Reprints wasn't a big issue to worry about.
Posted By: dan mckee
david is correct, the only Fatima fakes that were around 20 years ago are cardboard cards and not of photo paper.

Posted By: davidcycleback
If the old reprints are cardboard, then it would be simple to tell if your friend's Fatimas are real. Paper versus cardboard.

Posted By: Bob
The way card prices are dipping, estimates of rough Fatimas which would grade authentic at best, mentioned above, are not realistic. I would say more like Phila. $50-60, NY NL $75-125.

Posted By: Fred C
Yikes, those are a bit rough. I get the feeling that $75 for NY and $50 for Philadelphia would be generous.

Posted By: barrysloate
There are cards for all sixteen American and National League teams. They're not too rare, although a couple of the teams can be a bit tougher.

Posted By: davidcycleback
The NY Nationals is the second most popular of the cards in the set, because it not only has ever popular Christy Mathewson but is one of the few Pre-WWI baseball cards with Jim Thorpe. The most popular is Cleveland because it includes Shoeless Joe Jackson.

I think the Fatima team cards are nice cards/photos, no matter what the condition. They're essentially tobacco cards and team photographs in one.
