Removing Creases
Posted By: kirk
I know it's taboo around here... But This card has 2 tiny creases I'd love to see gone. Any ideas?

Removing Creases
Posted By: Steve F
It's been a while, but I use Crease Release ( the spray, not the liquid). It was developed by NASA for spy photos in the '50s or something. I've had my small bottle for many years now, was purchased at the local hobby shop. May need several applications. Best of luck

Edit, Added photo.

Removing Creases
Posted By: kirk
Thanks anyway, but got them out beautifully. An older gentleman (hes probably 70) down the street who collects just did F'ing magic on 2 of my cards and... Well you can't tell they were ever there on this one. Disappeared. gone. on the other, a 58 mantle, where the crease was it looks like a fingernail nail may have rested hard there and made an imprint. not bad at all though. That crease was pretty bad too. Let me know if you want close up before an after pics. I'd bet a million bucks you cant tell there was ever a crease on the berra. just jumped from a 6 to a 9.

Posted By: kirk
bst beware of what? Thats kind of insulting. Am I a crook now because I removed a crease? please.

Removing Creases
Posted By: Jim VB
Perhaps only my opinion, but, you're not a "crook" because you tried to remove, or did remove, a crease.

You would be a "crook" if you subsequently attempted to sell that card without informing the buyer that the creases had been "removed". Your remark about changing a "6 to a 9" is very troubling.

Removing Creases
Posted By: kirk
Fair enough. I understand & that makes perfect sense. I never even knew this was even possible.... So you're saying the crease may come back.. How long would that typically take?

Removing Creases
Posted By: peter ullman
I'm not sure how long it takes for creases to return...I've only heard that they can/do.

Removing Creases
Posted By: leon
We have had several discussions on the board about crease removal. If I remember correctly 1 person said they thought one came back after it was removed. I guess if it was removed using some kind of moisture maybe it could....but I don't know as I have never tried to remove a crease. Crease removal is considered mostly taboo on cards. I have no idea about length of time and so forth. Most of my cards have creases and I am fine with them. That being said of course I prefer cards without creases and creases in the head area are the ones I really don't care for........regards
