players omitted from t-206 set

Posted By: samuel
I was disappointed to find that slim sallee did not have a card in the set. he pitched almost 130 innings in 1908, his first year. yet I know that a number of players depicted in the set did not debut until 1909--for instance, rebel oakes. I'm aware that the cards were printed until 1911 and that many players were omitted, but about how many, and what were the criteria in the selection process? I'm sorry if this is an old topic.

Posted By: Jodi Birkholm
What was it Cliff said? It was something like, "Well, Tony Bennett's still alive, why don;t you call him and ask if he's been in my kitchen?"!!! I do still remember that he had $22,000 going into Final Jeopardy (back in the old days, before they doubled the dollar value of the questions).
