1880's New Women's Baseball Card discovery?
Posted By: Rich Wetherbee
Hi:

Would like a little help with these cards. Just pulled these from a scrapbook. They measure 2 3/8" x 3 3/8" and are on thin stock. Each has an ad for a Tailor in Binhamton, NY. Now I know the poses have been seen on smaller tobacco cards, but is anyone aware of these cards or similar ones from another advertiser? Sorry for the lousy pictures as I used my 10-year old digital camera.

Rich W.

Posted By: leon
I have seen those a few times and here is a link to an REA auction to some of them. I felt the price was rather strong for them......Neat looking cards....and they did come with different backs...

http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/auction/2008/57.html

Russ Musceri from Victorean Images had a couple trade cards that were the same image but NOT the same stock/size as the example mentioned. It wouldn't be all that unusal for a lithographer to sell the same image to multiple buisnesses....
no guarantees whether written or implied.
