Posted By: Derek Granger
An ebay auction recently ended for an 1887 Oshkosh team PC (w/ Dummy Hoy, Tommy McCarthy, and Frank Selee):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200166835407&ssPa geName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=010

I know that an 1887 Oshkosh Cabinet card has been floating around recently and that it recently went at auction for $6k+. I was close to bidding top dollar on this particular PC, but did some research (thanks to the many outstanding websites of forum members), and decided to not bid on this particular auction because I feel that the PC is not authentic...or if it is "authentic", then I believe it was made in the 1920's (not pre-1900) based on the AZO stamp back design. Any thoughts on this? I hope my suspicion is right and that I didn't just miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime!!! The auction ended at <$250.

~Derek

Posted By: Derek Granger
that definitely makes me feel a lot better about not bidding...the first bid was from a Net54-proclaimed "Postcard expert", so it got my juices flowing a bit...I def. didn't want to miss out!

thanks for the insight!

Posted By: Chris
Does anyone have a picture of the postcard mentioned in this thread? Ebay has removed the listing. I would like to compare it to the one I just saw today.
