Posted By: Richard
Considering Jason's recent BST request-turned-thread, talk about timing...

Steve -- perhaps you should rename this thread 'Help me torture Jason L' before anyone gets the idea it's actually about T207s

Jason -- any other super difficult cards you've all but given up on obtaining to complete your 'sets', that we can dig up and show awesome examples of?

Great Cubs collection, by the way, I've been vicariously collecting through your site for months now!

Regards,

Richard.

T207 - For you, which one is THE Card?
Posted By: Jason L
All in good fun. truly wicked!
heck of a nice card, and apparently becoming rarer every year!

As I am a former fellow Greater-Chicagolander, Steve and I have a certain rapport (spelling?)

Thank you for the very kind words regarding my website! It is truly a wonderful form of therapy. Lots of changes this week, and many many more coming soon.

T207 - For you, which one is THE Card?
Posted By: Richard
No doubt about card-related websites. It's a great way to 'do something' related to your collection/hobby without having to spend a heck of a lot of money. I find that picking away at a site is a good way to bide time between purchases.

I have been slowly rebuilding a site as I rebuild my collection, but find that I've been so busy lately, it's not getting much attention. That's why I turn to sites like yours and others -- it gives me something to strive for. Truth be told, I stop by Steve's too, but only occasionally as I can't handle the constant taunting from his Toronto C46s.

Regards,

Richard.

NB. Steve do not take this as an invitation to start a C46 thread
T207 - For you, which one is THE Card?
Posted By: Bill Cornell
I'd never really thought about this one, although I've been collecting them for a while. The Weaver card is a classic and fully lives up to his "Smilin'" nickname. Lowdermilk is a great one, too. And you can pick up 3 Brooklyn Dodger catchers (Otto Miller, Higgins, Erwin), each one worse than the last one. I'll go with... Jacques Fournier. Why is he so happy? Dunno, but it's infectious.

No wonder he's always smiling."

Has there ever been a sadder, more forlorn photo used on a baseball card?

T207 - For you, which one is THE Card?
Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
The longest living Major League BB player.....lived to be 107 years old (1891-1998).

A southpaw pitcher with the Highlanders. In his 1st major league appearance on the mound (Detroit,
Sept 6, 1911)....he faced Ty Cobb and struck him out.

Recently, a very difficult card to find.

TED Z

T207 - For you, which one is THE Card?
Posted By: Mike Frohme
Love the Hoff, Ted! Definitely not easy to come by these days...

Great point on the color, Paul! (and nice Smith)!. Went back and looked at those and that red really does stand out!

Wonder why Marsans is the only one of the Cincy team not in a red cap.

T207 - For you, which one is THE Card?
Posted By: Jason L
I have indeed, secured a Schulte for my collection!!!
Much thanks to Paul.

But also a big thank you to Steve for calling so much attention to my search! A good natured ribbing is always entertaining when in good fun. I have to say that I laughed pretty hard at his first post in this thread, as well as Richard's very well-written acusation.

Thanks guys.

My T207 Cubs Team set is now complete!
I think it is justifiable to consider it complete without the Ward Miller. This is comparable (at least with my budget) to calling the T206 Monster complete without the Big 4.

T207 - For you, which one is THE Card?
Posted By: Richard
That's awesome!

Just got back from a few days away, and am glad to see how this worked out. Congrats Jason, and kudos to the seller (assuming it was a sale) for stepping up.

Now Steve, what'ya say you start a thread to taunt me with some of the C46s I still need

Regards,

Richard.
