Posted By: leon
Our E94's are very scarce....Scarcer yet is the packaging, such as boxes and tins, from the company. Then on another level of even greater scarcity are caramel wrappers.....if anyone would like to show any ancillary items that go with any of our cards, please do. I just acquired these.....and the return of the quarter of course...

Posted By: barrysloate
Jim- usually wrappers are saved when the company offers a promotion, such as with 1949 Bowmans. But I highly doubt there was a reason to save these little guys, so why on earth would somebody not throw them away?

Posted By: leon
The little wrappers had no reason to be saved.....I have no idea how they survived either. They are on very thin and fragile paper. I would venture to guess that these are from the 1910's-1920's....and here is an ad piece Bruce sent along to be posted...

Posted By: Jeff S.
I've found scrapbooks assembled years back that dealt with one ephemeral subject or another. One was all beer labels, another was full of food packaging labels from the 30's and 40's. Depression-era mentality was to save everything, so it's very realistic that these survived.

Posted By: leon
No doubt about what you said. My grandparents went through the depression as I am sure many other board member's parents, grandparents and relatives did too. When my grandfather passed away, about 10 yrs ago, we cleaned out his garage. We found about 100 or more plastic, empty milk jugs, saved for no apparent reason. Many depression era folks were certainly pack rats. Then on my wife's side...Her grandparents were so poor they didn't even know there was a depression. They were sharecroppers.. For them nothing changed..... best regards
