Interesting T206 stamp
Posted By: Marc Del Percio
I found this stamp to be very interesting and curious. The stamp reads "Van Oeyen Photo 1907" across the top as well as having "Daniel" stamped above the Hoffman at the bottom. I am assuming that the stamp refers to famous photographer Louis Van Oeyen who became the official photographer of the American League in 1908. The curious part to me is the "1907" date.

As this card is a 350 only Series, likely released in early 1910, why would a prominent photographer advertise with a date stamp that was already three years outdated? Another possibly interesting aspect is the oddly shaped punch hole in the bottom right corner. Perhaps an indicator of a promotional item from the studio?

Whatever the significance (if any), I have never seen another stamp like this on a T206 so I thought I'd share.

Interesting T206 stamp
Posted By: scott brockelman
I imagine the collector knew that Van Oeyen took the original photo in 1907 and also put Hoffman's first name on the card. I imagine somewhere out there are a whole group of T206's like this.
