Counter</b><p>David Rudd, with all due respect, is it necessary to edit every single post you write multiple times?<br /><br />I think you are a good contributor to the board, but in my opinion, this is simply ridiculous.<br /><br />Is there a rational explanation for editing a 5-10 line post more than 15 times in an hour period?<br /><br />I know some people just don't give a darn about it, just as I did before having to scroll down the strange 19th century photograph discussion thread.<br /><br />Wonder if you could explain your editing reasons every single time you make one.<br />

Other than that I could care less and sometimes I even get a chuckle from seeing a post edited 10 times in an hour.

David has been around since the days of the Full Count board, so relative newbies should cut him some slack for that alone.<br /><br />To be honest, I'd rather read a post that has been edited multiple times and actually makes sense than read one that has never been edited and makes none.<br /><br />P.S. David - this heartfelt support has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that your father wrote some textbooks for my employer and indirectly paid my salary for a time! <img src="/images/wink.gif" height=14 width=14>

To which Churchill replied, "And if you were my wife, I'd drink it."<br /><br />I'm aware I use the edit function more than others. I have the habit of reading and fixing my posts (rewriting, adding, subtracting, etc). I'm concerned about the final text, not the line of editing denotations that follow a post. It's an admirable habit for a writer, just obvious on a chat board that marks you're edits. If the edit function wasn't there, I wouldn't (and couldn't) use it. <br /><br />People have commented and joked about my editing, but no one's complained to me about it. I have probably commented and joked about it.<br /><br />Most people's comments and jokes are not about the editing-- which I think they mostly could care less about-- but the line of edit marks. As this is an aesthetic issue, I am aware of the issue but take it with due seriousness-- which means I don't take it too serious. <br /><br />George's initial post was respectful and sincere, so I consider it as fair criticism or comment.

At yet another party, a lady walked up to Sir Winston and said, "Mr. Churchill, you're DRUNK!". Not missing a beat, Churchill said, "And you, madam, are ugly. The difference is, when I wake up tomorrow, I will be sober!". Perhaps the best comeback ever.
