Registry Mistakes
Posted By: Bobby Binder
It is errors like this that make me wonder the accuracy of the registry.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260263964033

Given the number of errors I always see and the shear number of people cracking and resubmitting. I would say + or - but in this instance it is only MINUS. What do you take off 10%, 20% or higher? Seems to me this kind of data is useless because of to many errors and other circumstances.

Registry Mistakes
Posted By: chiprop
I have a card that is the only one kown to exist. The card has been submitted 3 times for grading, so it is 1 of 3 according to PSA. The registry should be used as a guide, but hardly accurate. They should be able scan cards and identify them for future reference. It would only help the collector, so don't count on that happening anytime soon. DK

Edited to add that PSA is consistant in flip errors too. I have a Wagner throwing and it says batting. There was also a t206 Honus Wagner flip/slab a couple of years ago with Heinie inside the slab. That's a big error!

Registry Mistakes
Posted By: Matt
"It would only help the collector" I think it would help teh grading companies as well - they would have a database of exemplars of rare cards to validate against and their registry software would become much more powerful/desirable if every card had a scan.
