Help ID Player In Photo
Posted By: ChiSoxFan
In the T200 White Sox card, the player in the front row third from left has a last name of "Smith".

If the the photo is actually of the 1913 White Sox, then "Smith" could be 1 of 2 players.

It could be "Bob Smith". He played 1 game with the White Sox before going to the Federal League for the 1914-1915 seasons (played for Buffalo both seasons).

The other could be "Pop-Boy Smith". He played 15 games with the White Sox before going to the Cleveland Indians for the 1916-1917 seasons.

(Image From Library of Congress web site)

Before I start doing more research, does anyone known which "Smith" this is?

Thanks,
ChiSoxFan

Posted By: Anonymous
I could be wrong. It could be Pop Boy Smith. If you look at Cicotte, who was five foot nine inches, the gentleman to his left is taller than him. Bob Smith was five foot 11 inches and Pop Boy Smith was Six foot one inches. I just did a quick perusal of the roster.
