Posted By: Steve
Tough photo but, I believe this was cut just outside the Rt and bottom lines. This was a top left corner card on the sheet.

W512 Ruth question

Posted By: Paul
SGC doesn't put "hand cut" on their labels like PSA does. I personally don't have a problem with hand cut cards receiving high grades, since the cut isn't the only factor. Also, it's very difficult finding hand cut cards in nice shape.

Posted By: Kyle
I've handled quite a few of these sheets, and that card is cut short. One of the few that SGC has let slip by cut short. Probably graded before they were more strict on measurements. It surely won't cross over to PSA. It'd get an authentic grade in my opinion.

Posted By: Marty Ogelvie
Thanks for all the responses. Does that price seem high? The 2006 SCD has this card around $380 in NM condition and I don't see a lot of bids on this one yet.. My original instinct was to BID.. but NO BIDs made me flinch, then I checked the price guide.. but since mine is a few years old and since this card is graded there may be a premium.. thanks again for the responses!

martyOgelvie
nyyankeecards.com

W512 Ruth question

Posted By: Steve
I've sent cracked out a PSA Aut to SGC and received a num. grades.

Sent a cracked SGC 50 Gehrig strip to PSA and rec'd an Auth!

Also, I'd sent a cracked PSA Auth back to PSA and received num. grades.

With well cut strips, it's a complete crapshoot. It seems to be totally subjective on the part of the individual grader.

Posted By: leon
We are in total agreement. I think all strip cards should either an AUT grade OR get a number AND a "Handcut" notation. That's just my opinion though...
