Why not to buy an old Sweet Caporal pack hoping for a baseball card!!!
Posted By: Frank Wakefield
Below is a scan of a T58 Fish card. Atlantic Salmon. With a Sweet Caporal back, I think at least Piedmont was a possible back, too.

I recall reading some time ago that if one (or many, if Bruce is reading) were to open a sealed cigarette package from about 1910, odds were about as good that a T58 fish would be in there as a T206. I think this was in an Old Judge newsletter, but I can't recall precisely where I read that.

Anyway, unless you were lucky enough to get the one card you lacked to complete your set of 100 fish, then you might be disappointed that you didn't get a white border baseball card.

Posted By: Jodi Birkholm
As far as trimmed fish cards go, I believe the proper vernacular would be "filleted". This would have caused all sorts of confusion if Old Judge had released a fish series.

Posted By: davidcycleback
Common fish card terms include sushi (raw), canned (graded), Moby Dick (bleached) and 'found in grandpa's tackle box' (reprint)

Why not to buy an old Sweet Caporal pack hoping for a baseball card!!!
Posted By: Trae R.
Frank, I just want to say thanks.

Per my current financial situation (buying a new house and everything that goes in it is intense!) and the fact that my Dad and I are way into fishing, AND I love T206 I couldn't help but pursue this set once I saw your post.

I am about 20% complete at this point as I found a woman from Denver with a decent lot. I plan on framing the set when it's complete and hanging it in my office. My Dad will be proud, and think it's neat that they came in the same cigarette packs as my favorite baseball cards.

So, "thanks"!

---
"There ain't much to being a ballplayer, if you're a ballplayer."
-Honus Wagner
