I had to go scan this guy in...my only speaker! Posted By: <b>Al C.risafulli</b><p>The common version of the 1938 Goudey #246 Ernie Lombardi had Lombardi erroneously listed as a member of the Red Sox (he was with the Reds).<br /><br />To remedy the situation, in the initial print run Goudey placed a hand stamp of a baseball over "s Sox" on the red border of the card.<br /><br />At some point, Goudey corrected the error, correctly portraying him as being with the Reds. This version is much tougher to find than the one with the baseball overprint. I've never shown this one here.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.swingbattaswing.com/page10/page4/files/page4-1005-full.jpg"><br />
