Posted By: <b>Dave</b><p>They just had a better front office.<br><br>In early 1925, the Yankees offered to trade Gehrig to the Boston Red Sox for first baseman Phil Todt to repay Boston for the blockbuster Babe Ruth trade a few years earlier. The Red Sox turned the Yankees down.<br><br>

Very well-researched with great pics. I've learned a lot thus far. Definitely a book to read and have in your collection.

While my subject was the Yankees it's not necessarily written from a fan's point of view - the sport (or business) of baseball back then being different in many ways than that of today.<br /><br />Best to everyone,<br />Ray<br /><br /><br />
