n28s and their scaresness?

Posted By: Eric
How scarce or rare are N28s?

Given their age... i'm surprised by how many of them I see for sale.

n28s and their scaresness?

Posted By: leon
Relative to other 19th century sets these are one of the more common ones. This might be one of the best "values" still left......Neat looking cards for not a ton of money (again relative to others)...They were made on heavy stock which might be a reason they are still found in abundance......regards

Posted By: JimB
Like Leon said, relative to other 19th century issues they are not too tough. The thick cardstock probably also contributed to the survival of some in high grade. I agree that they are still one of the best values since in my opinion they are among the most attractive 19th century issues made. For that matter, I think they are one of the best looking baseball card sets, period.
JimB

Ten baseball subjects. Beautiful cards. Easier than the other A&G issues, N29 or N43. Kelly and Anson ain't cheap but, again, a bargain compared to some other issues.

Posted By: Rhys
I had never thought about it before, but does the photo of the album page above and the scan of my Bennett below mean that my AG cards were not cut from the album but maybe a poster? My Bennett does not have the overlap lines from the card above it on the album page.

Rhys

Posted By: davidcycleback
The album pages are card stock like the regular cards, while a poster would presumably be paper.

There are Allen & Ginter baseball card ad posters and you'll see Buchner Gold Coin handcut/blank back cards that were cut from posters.

I've never heard of a faked or forged Allen & Ginter album or poster cut out card. If someone's going to forge an Allen & Ginter it's going to be the regular card as they're worth multiples more.
