T207 Question
Posted By: Jeff W.
I recently decided to pursue the T207 set and was able to pick up a few on the BST. I recieved them today and noticed that all of them have slight cracking on the front of the cards. Question:

1.) Is this cracking normal for T207's?

2.) Are T207's really condition sensitive, like say E103's?

Any info is always appreciated
Jeff W.

T207 Question
Posted By: Ken McMillan
Hi Jeff,

What you are seeing is most likely what i called "crazing". These cards have a smooth finish on them which tends to crack like old pottery. Very common problem. As to condition sensitive, they are like any other card and condition would affect value. Some backs are also more rare than others with Recruit being the most common. I collect the Cubs in t207. mine are graded cards and I have some duplicates.

Ken

T207 Question
Posted By: Bob
"Crazing" is a normal procedure for these (T207) cards although you can find plenty that don't have this problem. The surface finish of the cards makes EX or better cards look stunning but a crease can make it look like Route 66.
That said, I don't know if I would call them condition sensitive. The E94s are a good example of a condition sensitive card. You have to be very careful handling a raw E94, especially removing it from its holder because the card can chip and flake easily in the color area. That is one reason I have all my E94s slabbed, for protection sake.
T207 Question
Posted By: Andrew S.
Every T207 I ever saw had crazing. Even if you do not see it with the naked eye, look through a magnifier and you will see that no T207 has a smooth perfect gloss. They all have it, and the grading companies will not downgrade due to surface crazing. They know it is inherent with the T207 set.
