Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Paul S
That Gramps, he always was way before his time.
|
Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: barrysloate
His description is a single and very long run on sentence.

For that alone I don't trust him.
|
Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Al Simeone
He is also selling a Rolex for good old Grandpa! Note 50.00 shipping on the Plank but only 3.50 for the watch worth 22,000. Wonder if thats including Ins.

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Frank B

He needs to be reported to EBay immediately because he has a rolex and
a computer up also and they have people bidding on the items. Seller keeping
those auctions private so no way to warn the bidders. Rolex ends Mon night.

If he has the Plank he should take another photo of it that shows he
actually has custody of it.

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Paul
Why wouldn't you trust him. He "inheriated" the Plank from his grandpa.
|
Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Mike
I suppose if you just inherited 10,000 cards from gramps, why not start with the Plank?

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Anthony S.
Hasn't legendary ebayer "stew_p_dazzo" been looking to add a T206 Plank to his collection? Perfect opportunity.
|
Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Pennsylvania Ted
The Plank looks legit (front and back), so we can assume he stole the scan ?

Well, what can you suspect from a seller whose handle is "JESSE J"..ames ?
|
Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: barrysloate
That card looks very familiar. Who did he steal that scan from?
|
Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Doug
According to the rolex auction it's "for sale locally". Anybody here live in Moses Lake, WA and want to see if he really has it or not? If you check the PSA set registry there is a T206 set called Latzko's Passion that has a PSA 5 Plank in it. Unless the owner of that was his Grandpa something must be up because the pop report only shows one PSA 5 Plank.

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Tony Andrea
I emailed the seller and asked for a scan of him holding the card for proof
due to his feedback rating of ZERO.
He replied by saying.

"Dear 3-2-count,
i do understand ur concerns and ill get u that scan as soon as my wife gets home and im also going to post it on ebay also

- jessej3734

Can't wait to see the pictures, can you???

Tony

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Art M.
According to my records, this exact T206 Eddie Plank, PSA 5 card was last sold in the May 2005 Robert Edward Auction (lot 180). The auction and scan are online at this link:

http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/auction/2005/180.html
Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Frank B

he just sent me a scan of one of the Ruth cards he claims to have.
the PSA8 #144 1933 Goudey

According to the PSA Certification Database, certification number 50010157 is defined as the following:

ITEM INFORMATION
Year: 1933
Brand: GOUDEY
Player: BABE RUTH
Variety: N/A
Grade: 8

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Eric B
The REA Plank scan is just slightly crooked, tilting to the right on top. About 0.3 degrees. I wonder how this seller was able to duplicate that tilt so precisely.
|
Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Eric Brehm
The #144 Ruth with that cert number is from the same REA auction:

http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/auction/2005/5.html
|
Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Andrew
His "grandpas" Plank is also tilted if you look, he just stole the scans from the Ruth and the Plank!

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: JimB
It seems that everybody who inherits a Wagner or Plank has a computer with the CAPS LOCK on. Maybe he will buy a new keyboard with his profit.
JimB

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: barrysloate
Some people feel that the use of capital letters entirely will better convey just how rare the item is they are selling.

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: David Smith
He has listed a Ty Cobb with red background, eBay Item number: 260201556808. He also has a Lajoie card listed. Neither are graded (unlike the Plank, which ended early and the Babe Ruth cards). Also, his Rolex auction was removed.

David

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Dan Kravitz
I got him to remove the plank, buy telling him I would buy it for $10,000. He agreed and asked me to send him half. I told him to take another scan with a current newspaper to prove the card was in his possession and I have not heard back from him since. Big scammer! Stay away from any and all of his auctions!!!

Grandpa Graded His Cards?
Posted By: Jack Richards
Regarding the word "Resplendent," my son (also a collector) and I created a word last Summer that was intended to describe anything that was indescribably perfect. The word was "racqtigent." (We considered starting it was a silent "g," but decided against it). We hoped that it would catch on with some of the auction catalogs, but so far no luck. Feel free to use it. Thanks, Jack
